Attempted Burglary
At approximately 4:10 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to the 9000 block of New Britain Cir for a report of an attempted burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who told them that moments prior, he heard a loud noise coming from the first story of his residence. The victim looked outside and observed a male subject attempting to force his way into the residence. When the victim yelled at the suspect, the suspect ran from the residence towards the play area on New Britain Cir before fleeing in a dark-colored, newer model, four-door sedan being driven by a second male suspect. Damage to the victim’s door was estimated at $500.
Recovered Stolen Auto
On Oct. 14, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8600 block of Quarry Rd for a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 14, his girlfriend’s 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck, valued at $2000, was stolen from in front of his workplace. On Oct. 19, Manassas City Officers learned that Virginia State Police had recovered the stolen vehicle during a traffic stop in Arlington County. The driver was taken into custody for unrelated charges by Virginia State Police.
**Arrests**
Stolen Auto – Arrest
On Oct. 14, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident at Auto Land (8905 Mathis Ave) for a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 7 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 14, his 1989 Toyota Celica was stolen from its parking space in the rear of the business’s property. The vehicle was white with red rims and valued at $5,000. On Oct. 16, officers learned from a witness that the vehicle had been located at Buu & Tee Tattoo (8609 Sudley Rd) and was being driven by a male subject. Remurl WADE (19) of 9521 Covington Pl, Manassas, Va. 20109 was charged with Larceny, Receiving Stolen Goods, and Driving Without a Valid License. WADE was held without bond and has a pending court date of Dec. 1, 2015. A second suspect was last seen walking from the tattoo business to an adjacent shopping center on Digges Rd. Witnesses described him as a white male with long hair, possibly in dreadlocks, wearing a dark, long-sleeved sweatshirt and blue jeans.
