Crime Report
July 29, 2015
Robbery
At approximately 4:30PM on July 28, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. The victim, a 38-year-old female of Manassas, told officers that she was walking south on Stonewall Rd near the rail yard when she noticed two unknown male subjects walking towards her from the railroad tracks. The two suspects approached and demanded money from the victim. When the victim did not comply, the suspects threw her to the ground and stole an undisclosed amount of money from her wallet. The suspects then walked southeast towards Wellington Rd and Prince William St. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Description of suspects: (1) Hispanic male, 5’8”, 210lbs, short brown hair, wearing khaki shorts and a white tank top; (2) Hispanic male, 32-37yo, 6’3”, 170lbs, blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and a gold necklace with no charm.
Breaking & Entering
On July 27, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Prince William Education Association (8510 Bucyrus Ct) for a report of an attempted burglary. The reporting party told officers that the week prior, she noticed that three windows of the business had been popped out as if someone had tried to gain entry.
Hit & Run
On July 28, 2015 Manassas City Police was on routine patrol in the area of Plantation Ln when an officer observed several wood shards in the roadway. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a speed limit sign valued at $100.00 and a mailbox on the 8700 block Plantation Ln had been struck and left in the roadway. The damage is believed to have occurred sometime between 1:30AM and 3:30AM on July 28th.
Motor Vehicle Theft
On July 28, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Battlefield Ford Quick Lane (9026 Centreville Rd) for a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 3:00PM on July 26th and 8:30AM on July 27th, someone stolen a 2006 Ford F-550 Super Duty pick-up truck valued at $41,391 from the business’s lot. The vehicle was parked in the far right corner of the lot facing Mathis Ave at the time of the theft.
Larceny
On July 27, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to the 9000 block of Centreville Rd for a report of a larceny. The reporting party told officers that sometime during the previous week, someone stole several items, valued together at nearly $300, from an exterior shed in the rear of the victim’s property. Among the items were a game console, speakers, and an air conditioning unit.
Objects Thrown at a Vehicle
At approximately 5:15AM on July 25, 2015, Manassas City Police officers were on routine patrol in the area of Wellington Rd heading west past Fairview Ave when they heard five or six shots fired out of what sounded like an airsoft gun. Upon further investigation, officers noticed a suspect running north from the 9600 block of Fairview Ave north towards Richmond St. An airsoft gun was located on the 9600 block of Fairview Ave. There was no apparent damage to the vehicles or officers.
Description of suspect: Black male, 16-17yo, wearing a white t-shirt
Destruction of Property
On July 25, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to the 9500 block of Clover Hill Rd for a report of a vandalism. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 10:00PM on July 24th and 11:00AM on July 25th, the rear driver side window of his 2002 Chevy Suburban was broken. Through further investigation, officers also discovered small holes in the vinyl siding of the residence, caused by what appeared to be an airsoft gun. Damages to the vehicle and siding were estimated at $400.
Larceny from Motor Vehicle
On July 23, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a larceny that occurred on the 9600 block of Richmond Ave. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 10:00PM on July 22nd and 9:30AM on July 23rd, someone stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a change purse that was left in the center console.
Hit & Run
On July 23, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9000 block of Center St for a report of a hit and run. The reporting party told officers that she was walking across the street at Center St and Fairview Ave when her arm was struck by a red minivan. The victim said the driver was a white male in his 30s with short hair, wearing a striped shirt, and that there was a female passenger beside him. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Larceny
On July 23, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 8400 block of Metcalf Blvd for a report of a larceny. The reporting party told officers that during the overnight hours of July 22nd, someone stole a white wallet containing bank and identification cards from her vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.
Larceny
At approximately 12:40AM on July 21, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to the 9200 block of Garnet Ct for a report of larceny from multiple vehicles that had just occurred. The reporting party told officers that he was awoken by two subjects at the end of his neighbor’s driveway. When he went outside, he observed two male suspects rummaging through his neighbor’s vehicle and confronted them. The two suspects then fled on foot towards Cockrell Rd. Upon further investigation, officers discovered at least three vehicles showed signs of having been rummaged through.
Description of suspects: (1) White male, 16-18yo, wearing blue workout shorts with a white stripe (2) White male, 16-18yo
Suspicious Event
On July 22, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a suspicious event that occurred the day prior. The reporting party told officers that at approximately 3:00PM on July 21st when she was walking home, she was cutting through the parking garage on Main St and Prince William St when a silver Honda Accord approached her and slowed. The driver stared at her and exited the garage. The victim continued walking and saw the same vehicle and driver again as she was walking on West St. The driver made a waving motion with this hand and drove away. The third time she saw the vehicle, the driver asked her a question, which she ignored. The victim, a 15-year-old female of Manassas, sought help from a U.S. Postal Service employee nearby and returned home unharmed.
Description of suspect: Hispanic male, 35-40yo, with black hair, a goatee, and acne scars on this chin and jaw. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a white shirt with an American flag on the front.
Burglary
On July 21, 2015, Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 10300 block of 7th Regiment Dr for a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers that sometime between 2:30PM and 6:30PM on July 20th, someone broke into the residence by prying open the front door and stolen a handgun and two watches from the living room. The stolen items were valued at over $1,200.00.
**Arrests**
Assault & Battery – Arrest
At approximately 9:50PM on July 23, 2015, Manassas City Police responded to Giant (10100 Dumfries Rd) for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed store staff and a female juvenile arguing outside the store, and a large quantity of items scattered on the ground to include candy and small electronics. The reporting party told officers that when she confronted the 16-year-old female inside the store about stealing the items, the juvenile struck her several times while trying to flee, causing minor injuries to the store employee. The 16-year-old female of Manassas was charged with petit larceny, assault and battery, and obstruction of justice. She has a pending court date in Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.
