Assault
Manassas City Police are investigating an assault which occurred on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at approximately 2:00 PM.  Three suspects were involved in an altercation with an employee of Fiesta Supermarket (9100 Mathis Ave). The 61 year old male employee was struck in the head by suspect #1. The victim was transported to the hospital and suffered a possible concussion. The suspects were last seen walking through the breezeway towards Portner Ave.

Cell Phone Larcenies - Arrest
Manassas City Police investigated two larcenies of cell phones from cab drivers.  The first incident occurred at approximately 4:30PM on Thursday, August 1 on the 9800 block of Maury Lane.  The second incident occurred at approximately 3:30PM on Friday, August 2 near the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Fairview Avenue.  The investigation lead to the arrest of Justin Dwayne Roberson, 23, of 1307 Washington LN, Fort Washington, MD.  He was charged with two counts of Grand Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCP).  He was held at the ADC pending a September 30 court appearance.

Larceny from Auto - Arrest
Manassas City Police investigated the theft of a purse from a vehicle in the Parking Garage at 9102 Prince William Street at approximately 1:20AM.  An Officer on foot patrol in the area located the suspect and recovered the purse.  Joseph Wycliff Roberson, Jr., 24, of 9834 Buckner Road, was charged with Grand Larceny and held at the ADC pending a September 3 court appearance.

Larceny from Auto
Manassas City Police are investigating the theft of stereo equipment from car parked on the 8600 block of Lamont Court.  The owner discovered the theft at 9:00AM Monday, August 5.  It appeared that access was gained through a zippered plastic window of the Jeep-style vehicle.  Loose change was also reported missing.

Auto Stolen, Recovered
Manassas City Police are investigating the theft of a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck from a driveway on the 8900 block of Traveller Street.  The theft occurred sometime between 11:00PM Sunday, August 4, and 5:30AM Monday, August 5.  At approximately 11:00PM Monday, the truck was located, parked and unoccupied, several blocks away.

Residential Burglary
Manassas City Police are investigating the burglary of a residence on the 8600 block of Weems Road.  The residents reported that items were taken from bedrooms in the home while they were on vacation between July 22 and August 3.  Another family member was staying in another room while they were away and never went into the other bedrooms.  There was no sign of forced entry.  Cash, video game systems and video games were reported missing.
