Manassas city police beat for 8/20/13

Robbery, Narcotics - Arrests
On Friday, August 16, 2013, at approximately 6:23PM, Manassas City Police Officers responded to the area of Centreville Rd and Liberia Ave for a report of a fight.  Upon arrival, they learned that one male subject had robbed a pizza delivery driver. The driver and his manager had chased the suspect and held him down.  An off-duty law enforcement officer witnessed the altercation and detained the suspect until officers arrived.

The investigation revealed that the suspect arranged to buy marijuana from the pizza delivery driver; but then took the drugs by force.  David Donnell Hammond, 20, of 9259 Sumner Lake Blvd., Manassas, was charged with Robbery, Possession of Marijuana, and Disorderly Conduct; and was held without bond at the ADC pending an October 15 court appearance.  Tyler MacKenzie Vutiprichar, 20, of 10929 Pope St., Manassas (20109), was charged with misdemeanor Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana and held at the ADC on a $2000 secured bond pending an October 15 court appearance.

Stolen Auto
Manassas City Police are investigating the theft of a 1994, green Jeep Cherokee from the 9700 block of Clark Place.  The owner reported that the theft occurred sometime between 7:00PM Saturday, August 17, and 2:00PM Sunday, August 18, 2013.  The owner described the car as having peeling paint on the hood and dents on the front right fender and bumper.

Larceny from Auto
On August 20, 2013 at approximately 3:00AM, two citizens told a patrolling officer that their computer and wallet had just been stolen from their car, which was parked at the corner of Stonewall Road and McKenzie Lane.  The victims said they were walking to their car when they noticed two people standing next to it.  The owner of the car said he pressed the alarm button on the car’s key fob and the suspects ran away.  He then noticed that one of the car’s windows was down and the computer and wallet were missing.  He described the suspects as two white males with dark clothing and flashlights. He said one of the suspects had shoulder length blond hair.
