Solicitation of a Minor – ARREST

Manassas City Police in conjunction with the Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Virginia State Police and FBI concluded a month long investigation on July 11, 2013.  The investigation led to the arrest of Diego Vicente Acevedo, a 29 year old male of 3355 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20010.
                                                                                                 
During the investigation Acevedo was communicating with an undercover detective and arranged a meeting for sex with a minor. 

Acevedo travelled from Washington, DC to Tysons Corner, VA for the meeting and was arrested July 11, 2013 without incident at The Embassy Suites Hotel in Tysons Corner.  Acevedo was charged with Use of Communications Device to Solicit Minor. 

Acevedo was held without bond and has a pending court date of October 2, 2013 in Fairfax County.

Prostitution – ARRESTS

At approximately 1 p.m. on July 3, 2013 Manassas City Police received information in reference to frequent short term traffic in and out of a room at the Best Western Hotel located at 8640 Mathis Ave.  According to the complainant, foot traffic in and out of the room began at approximately 10 p.m. on July 2, 2013 and was still ongoing at the time of the complaint.

With the assistance of the Prince William County Street Crimes K-9 Unit, Manassas City Officers conducted a surveillance operation that led to the confirmation of ongoing prostitution activity and the subsequent arrest of the following individuals:

·      Juvenile male (name has been omitted)
·      Suley Carolina Berrios (22) of Hyattsville, MD
·      Lorena Hernandez Guevara (38) of Hyattsville, MD
·      Juvenal Vazquez (38) of Manassas Park, VA

All were released on a summons and have a pending court date of August 13, 2013.
