Manassas city police beat for 6/5/13

Hit and Run
On Saturday, June 1, 2013 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 8400 block of Stonewall Road for a report of a Hit and Run.  According to the victim, someone(s) collided with the driver’s side rear door of his blue 2005 Ford Explorer while it was parked along Stonewall Rd and failed to contact him regarding the damage.

On Saturday, June 1, 2013 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 9500 block of Park St in reference to a hit and run.  According to the victim, his blue 2007 Toyota Tundra was struck while parked along Park St sometime between noon and 7:30 p.m.

Hit and Run, Driving Under the Influence
On Sunday, June 2, 2013 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Liberia Ave and Prince William Parkway in reference to a hit and run and three-vehicle automobile accident involving injury.  According to witnesses and one of the victims, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee struck his and a second vehicle before fleeing on foot.  Occupants from both vehicles that were struck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Officers canvassed the area using a description of the suspect the victims provided to Police.  Mr. Omar Antonio Lopez-Rios, 26, of Nokesville – was located by Officers hiding in the bushes in the rear of Davis Ford Shopping Center and was arrested. 

Lopez-Rios was charged with two counts of Hit and Run with Injury, Driving Under the Influence, and Operating a Motor Vehicle in the State of Virginia Without a Valid Virginia Operator’s License, and was held on a $10,000 bond.  His court date was set for July 30, 2013.
