Rock thrown at school bus
On Thursday, March 14, at approximately 4:45PM, a Manassas City Public Schools bus was making a right turn onto Wharton Court from Confederate Trail when an unknown suspect threw a rock through a bus window. The rock broke the window and landed on a seat. There were ten children on the bus at the time. Fortunately, none were near the window where the rock was thrown. No children were injured. Neither the bus driver, nor the children saw who threw the rock. Throwing a missile into an occupied vehicle is a felony offense in violation of section 18.2-154 of the Virginia Code.
Motor Vehicle Theft
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the theft of a pickup truck from the 10300 block of Central Park Drive. The owner reported to police that the camouflage-painted 1987 Dodge Ram pickup was taken between 7:00AM and 1:25PM Thursday, March 14. The truck was left unlocked with the key in the ignition.
Larceny from business
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the theft of eighteen aluminum concrete forms from the property of ‘Dias Concrete,’ at 8516 Bucyrus Court. A representative of the business reported to police that eleven of the forms were stolen between 6:00PM Thursday, March 14, and 10:00AM Friday, March 15. Another seven forms had been stolen during the first week of March.
Disorderly Conduct, Destruction of Property, Intoxicated in Public - Arrest
On Monday, March 18, at approximately 2:18AM, a Manassas City Police officer was patrolling the parking lot of ‘Mackey`s Restaurant,’ at 9412 Main Street. The officer witnessed a loud argument taking place on the patio area of the business. He observed Mr. Robert Rogers loudly threaten a man and a woman, then pick up a chair and break it near them. Robert Joseph Rogers, 33, of 8717 Barnett Street was arrested on scene and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Destruction of Property, and Public Intoxication. He was held at the ADC on a $5,000 bond pending an April 2 court appearance
