Manassas City Police Beat 9/27/11

Night-time Burglary
On Sept. 24, 2011, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the 9600 block of Branchview Court, in reference to a Burglary.
The victim advised officers that she was asleep and awoke to a subject standing three feet from the foot of her bed. The offender fled the residence only after the victim yelled at him. The police was immediately summoned and the residence and neighborhood were searched, with negative results.
The subject was described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall, with short dark hair, wearing a light colored golf shirt and jeans.

Defrauding a Taxi Driver
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating an incident regarding two males defrauding a taxi driver. On Sept. 24, 2011, at approximately 9:40 a.m. two males had a taxi drive them from Richmond to Manassas, then skipped out on the fare after asking the driver to stop at the Godwin Avenue 7-11 store before dropping them off at an address on McDowell Commons.

The first male was described as a white male, approximately 5’7” tall, light build, displaying two hoop style lip rings as well as sleeve style tattoos on his arms. The second subject was described as a white male, approximately 5’7” tall, medium build, having tattoos near his elbows. The total cost of the taxi ride was $247.00.

Aggravated Assault Arrest
On Sept. 22, 2011, Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 8800 block of Cather Avenue, in reference to an Assault. Upon their arrival, they were advised that several subjects were in the residence drinking, when Debra Ann Wood, 51, became upset and assaulted a family member.

Witnesses said that Wood, for no apparent reason, threw wine at a relative then proceeded to hit her in the face with a coffee mug, then with a flower pot. The victim was transported to Prince William Hospital due to the extent of her injuries. Ms. Wood left the area before officers arrived but was arrested at her residence in Catlett, a short time later.

Ms. Wood is currently being held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center, with no bond. Her court date was set for Nov. 3, 2011.

Assault Arrest
On Sept. 24, 2011, at approximately 7 p.m., the victim responded to the Manassas City Police Department and advised officers that she had just been assaulted and choked by Brandon Michael Robinett. The victim also said that Robinett had pointed a gun at her.

Officers escorted the victim back to her residence, when they found Mr. Robinett asleep in his vehicle, in front of the victim’s residence. Robinett would not comply with officers’ instructions, therefore; had to be tased and physically removed from the vehicle. A loaded handgun was found on Robinett’s person.

Brandon Michael Robinett, 27, of Lovingston, VA, was placed under arrest and charged with Assault, Brandishing and Destruction of a Cell Phone. He was seen by the magistrate and released on his own signature. His court date was set for Nov. 18, 2011.
