Manassas City Police Beat 9/21/11

Stabbing
On Sept. 18, 2011, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 9200 block of Byrd Drive in reference to a stabbing.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a subject that had been stabbed several times, in the abdomen area. The victim was flown to Fairfax Hospital where he underwent surgery for his wounds. He was released from the hospital on Sept. 20, 2011.

The suspect was described as a tall, clean shaven, black male, approximately 25-30 years old. This is an ongoing investigation.

Attempted Robbery
On Sept/ 20, 2011, at approximately 7:25 a.m., Manassas City police officers were called to the 9500 block of Liberty Street, regarding a report of an attempted robbery.

The victim, a juvenile, stated to officers that she was on her way to school when four girls walked up to her and tried to steal her cell phone. The victim said that she was hit in the face several times during the incident. The suspects fled the area without the victim’s property.

The four suspects were all described as black, approximately 5’4”, weighing approximately 120 lbs. This is an ongoing investigation.

Theft from a Building
On Sept. 20, 2011, a victim arrived at the Manassas City Police Department and advised officers that sometime within the last month, someone(s) had stolen approximately $6,000 from her residence, located in the 10000 block of Caladium Drive.

When asked, the victim stated that she was looking for a pair of earrings when she realized that her jewelry was missing from the home. According to the victim, there are no signs of forced entry to the residence, with no suspect information. This is an ongoing investigation.

False I.D. Arrest
On Sept. 19, 2011, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a Manassas City police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 8900 block of Centreville Road, resulting in the arrest of the driver, Carlos Martinez Hernandez for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Without an Operator’s License. Martinez Hernandez was incarcerated at the Prince William Adult Detention Center on the mentioned charges.

A short time later, Detention Officers contacted the arresting officer and advised him that Martinez Hernandez’s real name was Aldo Guzman Hernandez, 42, of 7939 Community Drive, Manassas.

Warrants were obtained and served on Guzman Hernandez, for False Identification, Forging Public Documents x2, Uttering x2, along with the D.U.I. and no operator’s license charge. Guzman Hernandez is currently being held with no bond. His court date was set for Nov. 29, 2011. He will be turned over to I.C.E. immediately after all criminal proceedings are complete.

Reckless Driving Arrest
On Sept. 19, 2011, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the 8600 block of Liberia Avenue, regarding an intoxicated female who had driven her vehicle into two cars that were parked in the business’ parking lot. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were advised by employees that Maria Juana Chicas, 35, of 1721 Horner Road, Woodbridge, had been causing problems at the establishment and was asked to leave.

Chicas, after being escorted from the establishment, which was not open for business yet, got into her vehicle and rammed a Smartcar, twice, then ran into a Volkswagon Jetta before exiting her vehicle and attempting to walk away. Employees said that the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Chicas was placed under arrest and charged with Reckless Driving and Destruction of Property x2. She was incarcerated at the Prince William Adult Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. Her court date was set for Oct. 24, 2011.
