Manassas City Police Beat 8/9/12

Hit & Run
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a hit & run incident that occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m. on August 6, 2012, in the 8700 block of Sudley Road. Witnesses told officers that they observed an orange hatchback type vehicle turning left onto Diggs Road from Sudley Road without yielding to oncoming traffic. They said that the speeding vehicle then collided with a 2008 Honda Civic. Offenders later found the vehicle parked on Diggs Road. Further investigation revealed that Thomas Jordan Ryan (age 20) was a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle at the time of the incident.

Thomas Jordan Ryan, 14807 Deer Pond Court, Centreville Virginia, was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication and Underage Possession of Alcohol. He was also served with an outstanding warrant from Greensville, Virginia. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for August 21, 2012. The driver and passenger of the Honda Civic were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This is an ongoing investigation.

Shoplifting Arrest
On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers were called to the Giant Food store, located at 10100 Dumfries Road, regarding a shoplifting incident. Store employees told officers that Shushana Angeline Coburn (age 27) was observed placing approximately $83 worth of store merchandise into her purse then attempting to leave the store without paying for them. Shushana Angeline Coburn, of 9840 Town Lane, was cited for shoplifting and released on her signature. Her court date was set for September 25, 2012.

Aggravated Assault Arrest
On Saturday, August 4, 2012 at approximately 9:15 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 9100 block of Sudley Road regarding unknown trouble. Upon their arrival, they discovered that a 46-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The victim told officers that he was arguing with another male, when the male’s son, Ali Houshang Zarrincalalci, of 8510 Braxted Lane, walked into the residence and struck him in the side of the head with a hand gun. The victim said that he heard the gun go off immediately after being struck in the head. The victim then noticed that he had been shot in the shoulder.

Ali Houshang Zarrincalalci (age 34) was arrested a short time later at his residence. He was charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for September 18, 2012.

Drunkenness Arrest
On Sunday, August 5, 2012, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were patrolling the area of the Old Town Inn, located at 9403 Main Street, when they encountered an intoxicated disorderly male. The male refused to comply with the officers’ commands and was subsequently arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest. Bernard Richard Drexel (age 30) of 1901 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville Tennessee, was also charged with Threats to a Law Enforcement Officer after threatening a Manassas City officer. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, on a $2,500 bond. His court date was set for September 13, 2012.

Vandalism Arrest
On Friday, August 3, 2012, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 8700 block of Sugarwood Lane, regarding a burglary. Upon their arrival, the victim told them that an acquaintance, Jamie Lyn Turner, entered the victim’s apartment without her consent to retrieve property that she had previously left there. Ms. Turner was standing on the victim’s balcony when the officers arrived. Further investigation revealed that Turner, of 9902 Grapewood Court, had gained entry to the residence by forcing open a window. Jamie Lyn Turner (age 30) was placed under arrest and charged with one count of Destruction of Property. She was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, on a $1,000 bond. Her court date was set for September 13, 2012.
