Manassas City Police Beat 8/23/12

Attempted Robbery/Malicious Wounding
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on August 23, 2012, in the 9200 block of Douglas Street. The victim told officers that he was sitting in his vehicle after leaving a friend’s house, when three males, one with a silver handgun, walked up to the car and demanded money from him. They then forcibly removed him from the vehicle after he refused their demands. The victim said that he attempted to run back to his friend’s house when one of the males shot him in the back of his leg.

One suspect was described as a 20-=25 year old, 6’1” black male, wearing a dreadlock-style haircut. The second suspect was described as a 20-25 year old, 5’4” Hispanic male. The victim could not supply officers with a description of the third suspect. All three suspects were covering their faces with bandanas. The victim, age 59, was transported to a regional hospital, with non-life threatening wounds. This is an ongoing investigation.
