Manassas City Police Beat 7/16/12

Assault Arrest
On July 14, 2012, Manassas City Police officers responded to the 9000 block of West Street, regarding an assault. Officers arrived on scene and found one of the victims restraining the offender. The victim told officers Ashley Nicole Harris arrived home intoxicated and assaulted several family members and was being restrained to avoid further incidents from occurring. Ashley Nicole Harris, 24, of 9041 West Street, was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of domestic assault. She was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center until she was no longer intoxicated. Her court date was set for July 16, 2012.

Grand Larceny Arrest
On July 13, 2012, at approximately 9:55 a.m. Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 7-11 store, located at 9407 Grant Avenue, regarding a larceny. The victim, a 43-year-old male, told officers that he returned to the store to retrieve his wallet that he accidently left behind, when he realized that a large sum of money was missing from it. Further investigation revealed that the cashier, Koy Wol Lee, had removed the money from the wallet then placed the wallet in the men’s room. Koy Wol Lee, 51, of 4695 Deerwatch Drive, Chantilly, VA, was placed under arrest and charged with Grand Larceny. She was seen and released on her signature by the duty magistrate. Her court date was set for Aug. 22, 2012

Grand Larceny
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a larceny that occurred between 8:30 p.m. on July 1, 2012 and 11:50 p.m. on July 14, 2012, at Vocelli’s Pizzeria, located at 8671 Sudley Road. The victim, a former employee, told officers that he left his Velocity Micro Cruz T301 computer tablet inside the manager’s office when someone(s) stole it. The computer tablet was valued at approximately $250. This is an ongoing investigation.

Larceny From Vehicles
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating two larcenies from vehicles that occurred throughout the weekend. The first incident occurred between 3 p.m. on July 12, 2012 and 1:15 p.m. on July 13, 2012, in the 9800 block of Main Street. The victim told officers that someone(s) gained access to the inside of her vehicle through an open car window and stole an Apple iPhone 3Gs, valued at approximately $100. A license tag was also stolen from the vehicle at the time of the incident. The second incident occurred between 1 a.m. and 12 p.m. on July 13, 2012, in the 10300 block of Floweree Lane. The victim told officers that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of currency. These investigations are ongoing.

Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.

Burglary
On July 16, 2012, at approximately 4:50 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 9300 block of Cloudberry Way, regarding a burglary. A witness told officers that he was leaving his residence when he heard a loud noise coming from somewhere in the neighborhood. He then noticed that a neighbor’s garage was open and that two champagne bottles, one broken, were lying in the neighbor’s driveway. Further investigation revealed that the bottles were stolen from the neighbor’s garage. Also stolen was an assortment of hand tools, valued at approximately $250. The witness did not see anyone running from the area at the time of the incident. This is an ongoing investigation.
