Manassas City Police Beat 6/25/12

Larceny
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a larceny that occurred between 9:30 p.m. on June 20, 2012 and 6:30 a.m. on June 21, 2012, in the 8700 block of Weems Road. The victim told officers that he left his vehicles unlocked throughout the night when someone(s) entered them and stole an undisclosed amount of money from both vehicles and a Garmin GPS, valued at approximately $200, and a credit card from one vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation.

Larceny
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a larceny that occurred between midnight and 6:10 a.m. on June 21, 2012, in the 8400 block of Metcalf Blvd. The victim told officers that someone(s) broke into her vehicle and stole approximately $1,100 in stereo equipment. The offender(s) gained entry by prying open the driver’s side window. This is an ongoing investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft
On June 22, 2012, at approximately 5:20 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were called to the 9700 block of Bragg Lane, regarding the theft of a motor vehicle. The victim told officers that at approximately 5 a.m., she left her vehicle, a 2000 Dodge, running and unlocked, in front of her residence while she prepared for work, when it was stolen. The vehicle was valued at approximately $5,000. This is an ongoing investigation.

Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.

Motor Vehicle Theft
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating the theft of a motorcycle that occurred between 7:30 p.m. on June 21, 2012 and 5 a.m. on June 22, 2012, in the 10300 block of 7th Regiment Drive. The victim told officers that he went outside to check on his motorcycle, a 2005 Suzuki, when he realized that it had been stolen. The motorcycle was valued at approximately $5,000 and was last seen being driven by an unknown male in the Manassas Park area. This is an ongoing investigation.
