Manassas City Police Beat 4/12/12

Marijuana Citation
On April 10, 2012 a Manassas City Police Officer responded to Prince William Hospital, located at 8700 Sudley Road, after receiving information that an individual was in possession of marijuana. The officer was notified by rescue personnel that they found a small bag containing various items while in the process of transporting Mr. Clyde Mullins to the hospital.  One of the items in the bag was a pipe that smelled of burnt marijuana, which tested positive for the substance. Mr. Mullins received a summons for Possession of Marijuana.  His court date was set for May 15, 2012.

Assault
On April 10, 2012 a Manassas City Police Officer responded to the 8900 block of Mathis Avenue, regarding an assault. The victim told the officer that at approximately 5 p.m. while he was riding his bicycle on Mathis Ave, a blue Volks Wagon Jetta with Virginia license plate # JWE4717 approached him from behind.  The front passenger reached outside the vehicle, grabbed the victim’s arm and pulled him towards the vehicle.  The victim was able to free his arm and sustained no injuries. According to the victim, there were two male occupants of the vehicle and one female with long hair. The front passenger was a young Caucasian male. Investigation is ongoing.

Larceny
On April 10, 2012 a Manassas City Police Officer was dispatched to the 8900 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to a larceny. The victim informed the officer that some time between 10 p.m. on April 9, 2012 and 5:30 a.m. on April 10, 2012 someone(s) entered his vehicle and stole various items. The victim told the officer that the vehicle was left unlocked at the time of the theft.
