Dog At Large
While performing extra patrol on April 3, 2012 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to Bragg Ln, regarding two dogs at large.  When officers arrived, they were informed that one of the dogs, an unneutered male white and black pit bull, had just been walked.  During the walk, the dog and its walker had been followed back to a residence by a second, unneutered male brown pit bull.  The two dogs then began fighting in the yard.

The owner of the white dog attempted to intervene but was unsuccessful.  In the yard, children began to approach the two fighting dogs in order to help intervene.  One of the officers deployed a Taser on the attacking brown dog, which had no effect.  The officer then sprayed the dogs with pepper spray, which also had no effect.  The officer then deployed her Taser on the attacking brown dog a second time, which paused their fighting long enough to retrieve the white dog and return him to his home.  The brown dog fled to his home where he was contained in the backyard by officers.

The owner of the brown dog received a citation for Allowing a Dog to Run at Large, and for not producing a No Rabies Certificate.  Her court date is set for April 23, 2012.
