Manassas City Police Beat 3/2/12

Robbery
On Thursday, March 1, 2012, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Manassas City police officers responded to the 7-11 store, located at 10299 Dumfries Road, regarding a robbery. The victim told officers that a black male entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded the store clerk to open the cash register, in which the employee complied.  The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect was described as black, approximately 25-30 years old, wearing a black ski mask, blue jeans, royal blue shirt, black & grey hooded jacket, black sneakers.

Larceny
On Feb. 28, 2012, at approximately 10:25 a.m., a victim of a larceny arrived at the Manassas City Police Department and advised officers that at approximately 10:15 a.m., he was making a delivery at the Exxon gas station, located at 9901 Wellington Road, when someone(s) entered the cab portion of his delivery truck and stole an iPod, an iPhone charger and a pair of sunglasses. The total costs of the stolen items were estimated at $310. This is an ongoing investigation.

Larceny
Manassas City police officers were summoned to 9990 Wakeman Court, Leading Edge Aviation, regarding a larceny. The victim told officers that they recently completed an inventory of their facility and discovered that between January of 2011 and February 2012, someone(s) had stolen approximately $1,800 worth of aircraft parts from the facility. Officers are in the process of interviewing all the business’ employees. This is an ongoing investigation.

Hit & Run
Manassas City police officers are investigating a Hit & Run incident that occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2012. The victim advised officers that he was told by a neighbor that the victim’s vehicle, a 2000 Dodge, had been struck by a gold Jeep. A vehicle matching the witness’ description was located in the area a short time later and officers are in the process contacting and interviewing the driver. This is an ongoing investigation.

Marijuana Citation
On Feb. 29, 2012, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a Manassas City police officer was patrolling the area of Liberty Trail when he observed the driver of a 2005 Chevy commit a traffic infraction. The vehicle was stopped for the infraction, when further investigation revealed that the driver, Catherine A. Kerber, 56, of 8784 Peabody Street, was in possession of marijuana. Kerber was cited for Possession of Marijuana and for Expired Registration. Her court date was set for April 3, 2012.

Narcotics Arrest
On Feb. 28, 2012, at approximately 2 a.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 8400 block of Metcalf Blvd, regarding an occupied suspicious vehicle. Upon the officers’ arrival, they observed several people attempting to leave the area on foot. One female and two males were detained at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that the male, Jordan King-Paul, of 8005 Galla Knoll Circle, Springfield, VA, was in possession of marijuana and narcotics contraband. King-Paul was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, on a $1,500 bond. His court date was set for March 20, 2012. The names of the other male and female were not disclosed. They were released with no further charges.
