Larceny
On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers were called to the Super 8 Motel, located at 8691 Phoenix Drive, regarding a larceny. The victim told officers that between 6 and 6:20 p.m. on the abovementioned date, someone entered his room while he was sleeping and stole approximately $700.00 from his shirt pocket. The victim said he was waiting for a female, only known as “Heidi” and believes that she stole the money. He could not provide officers with a description of Heidi. This is an ongoing investigation.
Vandalism
On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 9200 block of Byrd Drive, regarding a vandalism. The victim told officers that at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the same date, he heard a loud noise coming from outside. He said he went outside and found his vehicle’s front right quarter panel been kicked in. Officers canvassed the area and found another vehicle, a 1993 Toyota, which had been vandalized in the same manner. The Toyota sustained approximately $1,000 in damages. The first vehicle, a 2010 Hyundai, also sustained approximately $1,000 in damages. This is an ongoing investigation.
Vandalism
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the 9100 block of Wharton Court, regarding a vandalism. The victim told officers that at approximately 1 a.m., he looked outside and realized someone was standing by his vehicle. The male fled after the victim yelled at him. The victim then went outside and discovered that the suspicious male was in the process of pouring sugar into the victim’s vehicle, a 1993 Ford, before being scared off. The suspect was described as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, approximately 5’9”, bald head and stocky built. He was last seen leaving the area in a maroon Ford Escort. This is an ongoing investigation.

Aggravated Assault Arrest
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 8700 block of Signal Hill Road, regarding an unconscious and bleeding male. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, a 28-year-old male, lying on the ground and bleeding from his face. Further investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation with another male and was hit in the face with a bottle. Witnesses informed officers that they observed the offender running into a nearby apartment shortly after the incident. Further investigation concluded with Bo Derrick McCarty, of 8709 Signal Hill Road (Apt 31) being arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. He was also charged with Spitting in Public, due to him constantly spitting inside the police vehicle after being told to stop. Bo Derrick McCarty was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for April 12, 2012.
Filing a False Report Arrest
On Sunday, March 25, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 8600 block of Liberia Avenue, regarding a larceny. The victim told officers that a family member stole his vehicle, a 2006 Chevy, valued at approximately $4,000. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was currently at a residence in Woodbridge, VA. Warrants were obtained on the offender for Grand Larceny. She was arrested by Prince William Officers and transported back to Manassas.
During questioning, it was discovered that the victim, Julio Guerrero fabricated the story regarding the stolen vehicle. The female also told officers that several days ago Guerrero grabbed her by the hair and slapped her. Julio Guerrero, of 8612 Liberia Avenue, was placed under arrest and charged with Filing a False Police Report and Domestic Assault. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 bond. His court date was set for April 30, 2012. The family member was released on her signature by the duty magistrate.
