Robbery Arrest
On Jan. 24, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 10000 block of Dumfries Road, regarding a robbery. The victim told officers that on January 24, 2012, at approximately 1:30 p.m., she was walking home and talking on her cell phone, an “iPhone 4” when a teen-aged male ran up and took the phone from her. A description of the offender was given to officers when a short time later, a male matching the description was stopped in the 9600 block of Byrd Drive. Further investigation revealed that the male that was stopped by the officers was the same person that stole the phone. The phone was recovered at the scene. Petitions were obtained against the 16-year-old offender, for Robbery. The offender’s name was not released due to his age. The court date has not been set.
Assault on Medical Staff
On Jan. 29, 2012, at approximately 7:30 p.m., several rescue squad personnel were assaulted during the treatment and transport of an intoxicated female. Paula DiRocco, 53, of 9013 Grant Avenue, was being transported to Prince William Hospital, when she assaulted two rescue squad workers. One victim was hit in the face numerous times while the other victim was bitten in the arm. While at the hospital,, DiRocco assaulted a nurse by hitting her with the heart monitoring equipment.
DiRocco was placed under arrest and charged with two felony counts of Assault on Rescue Personnel and one count of Assault on the nurse. She was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention on a $5,000 unsecured bond. Her court date was set for March 13, 2012.
Narcotics Arrest
On Jan. 24, 2012, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 7-11 Store, located at 9407 Grant Avenue, regarding a larceny of merchandise. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were advised by the store employee that two males were recently in the store acting strangely and that one of the males left the store without paying for his food. The officers found both males sitting in their vehicle in the store parking lot. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Eric Stacey Scrogins, of 3351 Yost Lane, was extremely intoxicated.
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a small baggie of marijuana and a small baggie containing several rocks of crack cocaine. Also found in the vehicle was a vial containing an unknown yellow liquid substance.
The driver Eric Scrogins, 29, and the passenger Gregory Davone, 35, of Washington, D.C., were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Scroggins was held on a $5,000 unsecured bond. His court date was set for May 15, 2012. Scott was held on a $5,000.00 secured bond. His court date was set for March 13, 2012.
Assault Arrest
On Jan. 26, 2012, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to Prince William Hospital, regarding an assault. Upon their arrival, they were advised that a subject had come to the hospital for treatment from injuries resulting from an assault. The victim told officers that she had an argument with a family member when the offender threw a plate at her causing the lacerations to her back.
A short time later, officers responded to the 9200 block of Bonham Circle and interviewed the offender, Cesar Timana, of 9092 Bonham Circle. Timana, 54, was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for April 4, 2012
Vandalism Arrest
On Jan. 29, 2012, at approximately 8 p.m. Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 8600 block of Devonshire Court, regarding a vandalism call. Upon their arrival, the victim advised them that she was having an argument with a family member, when he went outside and vandalized her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The offender, Curtis Twan Moore Jr., 18. was placed under arrest and charged with Felony Vandalism. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, on a $5,000 bond. His court was set for March 21, 2012.
