Manassas City Police Beat 1/11/12

Hit & Run
Manassas City police officers are investigating a Hit & Run incident that occurred in the intersection of Wellington Road and Hampton Road, on Jan. 10, 2012. An officer was patrolling in the area of Taney Road, when he was flagged down by a citizen and advised that between 5 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2012, she was walking home from the store when she was struck by brown Ford, four-door vehicle. The victim did not sustain any injuries stemming from this incident. This is an ongoing investigation.

Armed Robbery Arrest
Manassas City Police, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, have made an arrest in a robbery that occurred on Oct. 26, 2011, in the area of Byrd Drive and Taney Road. A Crime Solvers tip led officers to a residence in Fairfax County where Deshoun Ernest Wallace, 29, was hiding. He was placed under arrest and served with outstanding warrants of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Malicious Wounding. Deshoun Ernest Wallace was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. The female suspect, Natae Carter, was arrested on Dec. 14, 2011. See original press release below.

Robbery (Previously released)
Manassas City Police are investigating a robbery incident that occurred on Oct. 26, 2011, between 11:35 p.m. and midnight, in the area of Byrd Drive and Taney Road. The victim advised officers that he was walking home when he was approached by a black male and a light skinned black or Hispanic female. The male punched the victim in the face and head numerous times, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspects then removed the victim’s wallet from his pocket and continued to assault him while he was still down on the ground. Stolen were various documents and an undisclosed amount of money. The victim had to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The victim could not supply officers with the suspects’ description, only that the male was wearing a black jacket and a grey hood and the female was wearing a red jacket and jeans.
