Armed Robbery Arrest
Manassas City Police have made an arrest in a robbery that occurred on Jan. 3, 2012, at the Walgreens Pharmacy store, located at 9271 Sudley Road. A Crime Solvers tip led officers to James Ronald Bradford, 38, of 4002 Melting Snow Place, where he was placed under arrest without incident.
Bradford was charged with Armed Robbery, Armed Burglary and Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony. Bradford is also facing charges in Fairfax and Prince William County for robberies that he committed in their jurisdictions. James Ronald Bradford was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for Jan. 31, 2012. See original press release below.
Robbery (Previously released)
Manassas City police officers are investigating a robbery that occurred at the “Walgreens Pharmacy ” located at 9271 Sudley Road. The cashier advised officers that on Jan. 3, 2012, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a white male entered the store and handed her a note demanding pills. The suspect covered his identity by wearing a surgical mask. After being given the pills, the suspect was seen leaving in a black or dark colored Toyota Camry or Avalon. Officers recovered surveillance video and evidence from a neighboring pharmacy, catching the suspect on video, purchasing a pack of surgical masks. This purchase was made several minutes before the Walgreens pharmacy was robbed. The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, approximately 20-30 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 170-190 lbs. This is an ongoing investigation.
Assault Arrest
On Jan. 7, 2012, Manassas City Police Officers were called to Prince William Hospital, regarding an assault. Once on scene, the victim advised them that she had just been assaulted at her residence, in the 8500 block of Fairfax Street, by Saul Humberto Alcantara (age 42). The victim sustained injuries to her head stemming from the assault.
A short time later, Alcantara arrived at the hospital where he was placed under arrest and charged with Domestic Assault. Alcantara, of 8595 Fairfax Street, was transported to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center where he was released on his own signature by the duty magistrate. His court date is unknown.
Narcotics Arrest
On Jan. 7, 2012, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Manassas City police officers were on foot patrol in the 9600 block of Grant Avenue, when they encountered an intoxicated male. Further investigation revealed that the male, identified as Jerardo Hernandez Santiago (no fixed address) was in possession of marijuana. Hernandez Santiago was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of Marijuana.
While at the detention center, jail staff advised officers that the arrestee had supplied the officers with a false name. The subject’s real name was Jerardo Flavio Elacio Santiago. Santiago, 34, was also charged with False Identification to Law Enforcement and Forging a Public Record. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for February 21, 2012. He will be turned over to Immigration officials once all state criminal proceedings have been completed.
Assault on Law Enforcement
On Jan. 8, 2012, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were conducting foot patrol in the area of Old Town, when they walked up to two females arguing. They then observed a male grab one of the females from behind in an assaultive manner. One of the officers attempted to break up the fight when he was assaulted. Gregory M. Harris, 30, of 353 Moseby Court, was placed under arrest and charged with Assault on Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $1,500 bond. His court date was set for Jan. 24, 2012.
Larceny Arrest
On Jan. 8, 2012, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a citizen contacted the Manassas City Police Department and advised that he just observed someone stealing an air conditioning unit from a vacant home. The caller advised officers that he was at home, in the 8900 block of Sweetbriar Street, when he observed the driver of a blue Ford pick-up truck drive up to the house and remove the unit.
On Jan. 9, 2012, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers spotted the vehicle in the area. They stopped the truck and questioned the occupants. Further investigation led to the arrest of the passenger, Jeremy Martin (20 years old). Jeremy Martin was placed under arrest and charged with Grand Larceny. He was transported to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center where he was released on his own signature by the duty magistrate. His court was set for Feb. 14, 2012.
