Manassas City Police Beat 12/5/11

Burglary
Manassas City Police are investigating a burglary that occurred between 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2011 in the 9300 block of Amaryllis Avenue. The victim advised officers that he arrived home to find that someone(s) gained entry into his residence by breaking in through the rear sliding glass door. Stolen from the residence was an “X-Box” game system, jewelry and an undisclosed amount of money. This is an ongoing investigation.

Hit and Run
Manassas City Police are investigating a Hit and Run that occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2011, near the intersection of Liberia Avenue and Centreville Road. The victim advised officers that the driver of a white Honda, displaying Virginia registration tag “KND-8451,” struck his vehicle then sped off without stopping to exchange insurance information. The suspect vehicle was being driven by a white female subject at the time of the incident. This is an ongoing investigation.

Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 2, 2011, at approximately 12:50 a.m., a Manassas City police K-9 officer was patrolling the area of Wilson Avenue and Portner Avenue when he observed the driver of a black Honda commit a traffic infraction. Upon stopping the vehicle and interviewing the driver, the officer observed what he believed was Marijuana strewn on the driver’s jacket. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Cerritos Anner Hernandez, of Ashburn, VA, was in possession of Marijuana. Hernandez was cited for Possession of Marijuana, along with several traffic charges. His court date was set for Jan. 24, 2011.

Assault Arrest
On Dec. 1 2011, at approximately 8 p.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 9300 block of Caspian Way, regarding an assault.
The victim advised officers that his neighbor, Jamaal C. Moore, 31, of 9240 Caspian Way, was tapping on the victim’s sliding glass door with a baseball bat, when he confronted him, ordering him to leave the porch.

The victim went on to say that Moore struck him on the right forearm with the bat, causing a large bruise and swelling. When asked, the victim stated that the assault stemmed from past problems with Moore. Jamaal C. Moore was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery. He was released on his own signature by the magistrate. His court date was set for Jan. 24, 2012.

On the same date, a short time later, officers responded back to Caspian Way regarding another assault. The victim told officers that Frederick Richard Koch Jr., 55, had spit on her. Frederick Richard Koch Jr. was placed under arrest and charged with Assault. He was seen and released on his signature by the duty magistrate. His court date was also set for Jan. 24, 2011. This incident is related to the neighborhood quarrels involving Jamaal C. Moore and Frederick Richard Koch Jr.

Narcotics Arrest
On Dec. 1, 2011, at approximately 9:30 p.m. a Manassas City police officer was patrolling the 9600 block of Grant Avenue when he encountered an intoxicated male subject on Grant Avenue. Further investigation revealed that the male, Gary Jerome Murray, 27, of 9613 Grant Avenue, was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant and was also in possession of Marijuana. Murray was placed under arrest on the abovementioned charges and held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $2,000 bond. His court date was set for Jan. 24, 2012.
