Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 23, 2011, at approximately 10:25 p.m., a Manassas City police officer was patrolling the Jennie Dean Park area when he came across a suspicious vehicle that was occupied by two males. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Zachary Smith, of 10194 Bens Way, was in possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia. Smith, age 18, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released on a summons. His court date was set for Feb. 21, 2012.
Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 24, 2011, at approximately 8 a.m., Manassas City police officers were called to the 8900 block of Peabody Street regarding narcotics paraphernalia found in the bedroom of a juvenile. The juvenile’s relative advised officers that she believed that the 17-year-old was in possession of narcotics. Further investigation revealed that the youth was in possession of marijuana. The male was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released on his signature. His court date was set for Jan. 18, 2012.
Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 25, 2011, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 8700 block of Deblanc Place regarding a loud noise complaint. Upon the officers’ arrival, they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the residence. Further investigation revealed that Kenneth Westley Bursk, of 8797 Deblanc Place, had been smoking marijuana inside the house. Bursk, age 22, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released on a summons. His court date was set for Feb. 21, 2012.
Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 27, 2011, at approximately 12:15 a.m., a Manassas City police officer observed a male walking on the parking lot of the city’s Public Works Department. Further investigation revealed that the male, later identified as Myles Elliot Thompson, of 8264 White Pine Drive, was in possession of marijuana. Myles Elliot Thompson, age 22, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released on a summons. His court date is unknown.
Domestic Assault Arrest
On Dec. 25, 2011, at approximately 10 p.m., Manassas City police officers responded to the 9000 block of Patterson Place, regarding an assault. Upon their arrival, they learned that the victim had been arguing with Julio Luis Virula Escobar, age 36, when he allegedly struck her in the face. Virula Escobar, of 9005 Patterson Place, was placed under arrest and charged with Domestic Assault. He was seen and released on a $2,500 unsecured bond. His court date was set for Feb. 1, 2012.
Narcotics Arrest
During the evening hours of Dec. 24, 2011, Manassas City police officers executed a search warrant in the 9800 block of Austin Way, in Manassas, Virginia, regarding Possession of Narcotics with the Intent to Distribute. ?Numerous items were removed from the residence stemming from the search warrant. Timothy E. Ward, 25, of 9836 Austin Way, was identified as the suspect, through investigation and interviews. Ward was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for Feb. 21, 2012.
Resisting Arrest
On Dec. 25, 2011, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Manassas City police officers were summoned to the area of Liberia Avenue and Willow Glen Court, regarding a loud party. While in the area, they observed an intoxicated male attempting to cross Liberia Avenue. The male, after realizing that the officers were approaching him, fled into the neighborhood. A brief foot pursuit ensued and the male, identified as Alejandro Torres, 31, of 9011 Whispering Pine Court, was taken into custody.Torres was charged with Public Intoxication, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest and Escape. He was held at the Prince William County Adult detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for Jan. 24, 2012.
Aggravated Assault Arrest
On Dec. 25, 2011, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Manassas City police officers responded to the 9000 block of Old Hickory Court, regarding an assault case. Upon their arrival, they were advised by the victim that she was having an argument with an acquaintance, Dorey Lanell Scott, 34, when Scott struck her in the face with a cell phone. She said that she then went to a friend’s house to call the police when she observed Scott attempting to leave the area in her car. She tried to stop him when he struck her with the vehicle. The victim received minimal injuries stemming from the assault. Scott was not in the area when officers arrived.
On the same date, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Manassas City Police received a call advising them that Scott was having an argument with the victim, at the 7-11 store, located at 8708 Liberia Avenue. Scott ran away from the scene when an off duty police officer attempted to convene. K-9 officers located Scott a short time later. Due to Scott’s resistance, a T.A.S.E.R. device was utilized to arrest him.
Dorey Lanell Scott, of 8105 Rainwater Circle, was charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding, Assault and Battery, Unauthorized use of a Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for Feb. 21, 2012.
Assault Arrest
On Dec. 26, 2011, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Manassas City police officers responded to the 9400 block of Corey Drive, regarding an assault call. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were advised by the victim that she was assaulted by a family member, Jose Alexander Rivera Alvarado, 32, of 9252 Taney Road.
The victim told officers that Alvarado has been stalking her since their break up, which took place in August of 2011.
She said that on Dec. 26, 2011, he confronted her about getting back together, when she refused. She then said that he grabbed her hand hard enough to cause her nails to rip and bleed. Rivera Alvarado was not in the area when officers arrived on scene. A short time later, Rivera Alvarado was found at his residence. He was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $2,000 bond. His court date was set for Jan. 4, 2012.
