Manassas City Police Beat 12/20/11

Forgery Arrest
On Dec. 18, 2011, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a Manassas City police officer was patrolling the area of Maury Lane, near Hood Road, when he observed the driver of a gold Acura commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was initiated when the driver, a white female, exited the vehicle and ran from the scene, dropping her car keys and a smoking device while running away. A short foot pursuit ensued ending in the apprehension of the driver, Paula Lubreski, of Warrenton, Virginia. During the search of the vehicle, several items of drug paraphernalia were found. Lubreski was placed under arrest and charged with Eluding, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, along with the traffic violation.

While at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, after being processed by corrections officers, information was obtained that Lubreski had supplied officers with a false name. The arrestee’s real name was Chandra Leigh Rein. Rein, 41, was also charged with Forging a Public Record and Identity Theft. She was also served on the outstanding warrant from Fauquier County. She was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. Her court date was set for Feb. 14, 2012.

Larceny
The Manassas City Police Department is investigating a larceny that occurred in the 10300 block of Massie Street, between 8 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2011 and 9 a.m. on Dec.19, 2011. The victim advised officers that someone(s) gained access into her vehicle and stole an “i-Pod Touch” from the glove compartment. The item was valued at approximately $200. This is an ongoing investigation.

Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.

Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 20, 2011, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were patrolling the Old Town parking garage when they observed two subjects sleeping in a car. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Heather Lynn Chandler, of Daleville, Virginia, was in possession of marijuana. Chandler was cited for Possession of Marijuana and released on her signature.

Narcotics Citation
On December 17, 2011, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were patrolling in the 9400 block of Metcalf Blvd, when they encountered two subjects sitting in the back seat of a vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Marcel Ivan Warren, of 10713 Monocacy Way, was in possession of marijuana. Warren was cited for Possession of Marijuana and released on his signature. His court date was set for Feb. 14, 2012.

Narcotics Citation
On Dec. 17, 2011, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 10200 block of Cleary Street, regarding a domestic dispute. While speaking to the subjects involved, officers observed a smoking device in plain view. James Scott Wallace, of 10299 Cleary Street, was cited for Possession of Marijuana and released on his signature. . His court date was set for Feb. 14, 2012.

DUID Arrest
On Dece. 15, 2011, at approximately 10:25 p.m., a Manassas City Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Quarry Road near Zebedee Street, for a number of motor vehicle code violations. After failing numerous field sobriety tests, the driver, Deborah Lynn Thomas, 49, of 8522 Piney Point Court, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. A small bag containing an suspected narcotics was found by officers while searching the vehicle and seized as evidence. Ms. Thomas was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 bond. Her court date was set for Jan. 19, 2012.

Fraud Arrest
On Dec.15, 2011, at approximately 2 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the 9200 block of Byrd Drive regarding a female who left the area after not paying her cab fare. After speaking to the cab driver, the officer recognized the suspect as Patricia Ann Jackson. The officer responded to Jackson’s address when he found her walking up the street. Jackson was placed under arrest and charged with one count of Fraud. She was also served with outstanding warrants for Petit Larceny 3rd Subsequent, Rent by Fraud, Petit Larceny, Grand Larceny, Failure to Appear on a previous Grand Larceny and Prostitution charge. She was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. Her court date was set for Jan. 19, 2012.

Vandalism Arrest
On Dece. 17, 2011, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to DTR Towing Services, located at 10462 Colonel Court, in regards to a vandalism. Upon their arrival, they were advised by an employee that Raymon Gregory Avant, of 9009 Sandalwood Drive, became upset with the company and vandalized the customer service window of the business. The estimated cost of the vandalism was less than $1,000. Avant was charged with Vandalism and released on his promise to appear in court. His court date was set for Jan. 17, 2011.

Hit and Run Arrest
On Dec. 18, 2011, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were called to the area of Liberia Avenue and Thornwood Court, regarding a Hit and Run incident. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were advised by the victim that her vehicle had been struck by a white GMC truck. Three of the occupants inside her vehicle complained of head and neck injuries and were transported to Prince William Hospital for further evaluation. A short time later, officers found the offender’s vehicle parked in front of 8291 Liberia Avenue. Further investigation revealed that Juan A. Rivera, 42, was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. Rivera was placed under arrest and charged with Felony Hit and Run and Driving Suspended. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $7,500. bond. His court date was set for Feb. 14, 2012.
