Manassas City Police Beat 12/16/11

Vandalism
Manassas City police officers were summoned to the 8500 block of Burlington Court, regarding a vandalism incident. The victim advised officers that between midnight and 4 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2011, someone(s) broke one of the windows pertaining to his taxi cab. The damage to the vehicle was estimated at approximately $200. This investigation is ongoing.

Assault
On Dec. 14, 2011, Manassas City police officers responded to the 9400 block of Taney Road, regarding an assault incident. The victim advised officers that at approximately 7:30 a.m., he was walking on Taney Road when two black males, wearing ski masks, approached him and struck him in the legs with what he believed was a bat. The victim was transported to the hospital due to the extent of his injuries. This investigation is ongoing.

Larceny
Manassas City Police are investigating a larceny that occurred between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 9300 block of Center Street. The victim advised officers that her backpack and purse were stolen from her place of business, located at the abovementioned location. The backpack and purse were valued at over $100. This investigation is ongoing.

Narcotics Arrest
On Dec. 13, 2011, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were conducting foot patrol in the area of Byrd Drive, near Bragg Lane, when they came upon a suspicious occupied vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the passenger, Christopher Aaron Wherry, of 14812 Elmwood Drive was in possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia.

Christopher Aaron Wherry was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. He was seen by the duty magistrate and released on his own signature. His court date was set for Feb. 21, 2012.

Assault Arrest
On Dec. 14, 2011, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Manassas City police officers responded to a residence in the 9300 block of Wax Myrtle Way, regarding an assault. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were advised that the victim had been assaulted by a family member, Alfred Curtis Means, 48, of 9345 Wax Myrtle Way. The victim received minimal injuries stemming from the assault.

Alfred Curtis Means was placed under arrest and charged with Domestic Assault. He was incarcerated at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $1,000 bond. His court date was set for Feb. 15, 2012.

Robbery Arrest
Manassas City Police have made an arrest regarding two robberies that occurred between October and November of 2011.

On Dec.14, 2011, Natay Elizabeth Carter, 32, of 9202 Taney Road, was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Robbery, Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Assault and Batter.

Investigators received information that Carter was involved in a robbery incident that occurred on Oct. 26, 2011, along with another incident that occurred on Nov. 11, 2011. In the second incident, the victim had to be transported to the hospital due to the extent of his injuries. Police are still searching for Ms. Carter’s accomplice, Deshoun Ernest Wallace. This investigation is ongoing.

WALLACE is wanted for his involvement in a robbery that occurred on Byrd Drive on October 26, 2011 where the victim was attacked and robbed by a black male and a black female.  The victim’s wallet was taken, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash.  The female suspect was arrested on Dec.14, 2011.
