Robbery
On Oct. 21, 2011, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were called to the area of Beech Place and Byrd Drive, in regards to a robbery.
Upon their arrival, the victim advised officers that he had been robbed at gunpoint. He went on to tell them that two black males walked up to him and demanded money. When he said “no” to them, one of the suspects displayed a gun and physically removed the victim’s wallet from his pocket. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money and returned the wallet back to the victim. Per the victim, he observed the suspects attempt to rob another male subject before fleeing in a white, four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler 300. It is unclear if any money was taken from the second victim due to him leaving before police arrived.
The first robbery suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5’8”- 5’10” tall, heavy set, wearing black clothing, black beanie and clean shaven.
The second suspect was described as a black male, 6’0” tall, clean shaven, thin built and also wearing black clothes.
The victim did not sustain any injuries due to this incident. This investigation is ongoing.
Burglaries
Manassas City Police Officers are investigating two burglaries that occurred throughout the weekend.
The first incident occurred between 8 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2011 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2011, in the 10400 block of Brackets Ford Circle. The victims arrived home to find that their home had been burglarized. Stolen from the residence was approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of currency. Discarded evidence belonging to the offender(s) was collected from the scene.
The second incident occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2011, in the 9500 block of Tapok Drive. The victims advised officers that they returned home when they realized that their home had been burglarized. Stolen from the residence was a Vizio television, a Nintendo WII, a Dell laptop, an IPOD Touch, men’s clothing and an undisclosed amount of currency.
These investigations are ongoing.
Auto Vandalism
Manassas City Police are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2011, in the 9200 block of Bayberry Avenue. Witnesses advised officers that they observed a medium to dark skinned Hispanic male, approximately 5’8”-6’0” tall, strike the victim’s vehicle several times with a blunt object, causing approximately $2,000 in damages to the vehicles. The victim was not in the area at the time of the incident.
This investigation is ongoing.
