Vandalism, Assault – Arrest
Manassas City Police officers responded to a report of a vandalism in progress on the 9300 block of Taney Road at approximately 5:00PM Friday, October 19.  Police were advised that a man was walking in the roadway and kicking cars.  A witness told an officer on scene that the man had assaulted a driver of one of the cars.  After positively identifying the offender, an officer told him he was under arrest.

The agitated and apparently intoxicated offender resisted arrest and the officer used a TASER in order to gain control of him.  While officers were placing the offender in a cruiser, the offender used his head to strike one of the officers.  The officer was not injured, nor was the offender.  The offender was Dearious Davis, 25, of 4544 McMillian Dr., Sumerduck, VA.  He was charged with felony destruction of property, misdemeanor destruction of property, simple assault & battery, assault & battery of a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.  He was held at the ADC with no bond, pending a November 13 court date.
