Larceny
Sometime between 12 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2011 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 10, 2011, someone stole a 60-foot aluminum walk board from the front of Fries Garage, located on 97819 Cockrell Road.
A witness advised officers that sometime before the theft, he observed a Hispanic male subject pull into the business’ parking lot in a white Chevy truck. The driver, described as being 5’6” tall and weighing 140 lbs, exited the vehicle to look at the walk board. Finding this suspicious, the witness recorded the truck’s tag number. A short time later, the walk board, which is used for scaffolding, disappeared. The walk board was valued at over $1,000.
Larcenies from Motor Vehicles
Manassas City Police are investigating two larcenies from vehicles that occurred within the past week.
The first incident occurred between 5 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2011 and 3 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2011 in the 8500 block of Stonewall Road. The victim advised officers that an IPOD and a phone charger were stolen from her unlocked vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of the victim’s residence at the time of the theft. The IPOD was valued at over $300 and the phone charger at approximately $40.
The second incident occurred in the 10100 block of Grant Avenue. The victim advised officers that between 3 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2011, someone(s) broke into her vehicle and stole her wallet and an undisclosed amount of currency.
Another vehicle was also tampered with but nothing was stolen from it.
Stolen Auto
On Oct. 19, 2011, at approximately 11:18 p.m., the victim left his 2003 Ford truck, unattended at the 7-11 store located at 9166 Mathis Avenue, while he went inside to purchase items. He exited the store only to find that his truck, which he left unlocked and running, had been stolen. The truck was valued at over $8,000.
Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.
