Man taken to local hospital after stabbing in Gainesville; acquaintance charged

Stabbing Investigation – On May 30 at 10:44PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15100 block of Lee Hwy in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 22-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim in the upper body. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
