Man dies; Manassas police investigating Nov. 25 shooting on Byrd Drive
On November 25, 2016 at approximately 1 a.m. officers responded to the 9200 block of Byrd Drive for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located a male suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Currently no arrests have been made. Detectives are continuing to investigate this case and more information will be released when available.
The victim has been identified as Jose Tomas Velasquez, 44, of Manassas.
