Man, 22, charged with possession of child pornography

Incidents
• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Dec. 10 at 9:24PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6000 block of Popes Creek Pl in Haymarket (20169) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed entry was attempted into the home through the front door which was found damaged. Home surveillance revealed an unknown man concealing his face with a hood walking up to the residence and kicking the door twice before leaving. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored sweatpants with white stripes.

Arrests
Possession of Child Pornography – On Dec. 10,2024, a Prince William County detective assigned to the Northern Virginia/DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force concluded an investigation into an individual possessing suspected child pornography.
In August, information was received from an online tip that the accused possessed child pornography at his home in the 9500 block of Dublin Dr in Manassas (20109) where a search warrant was recently obtained and subsequently executed, resulting in items of evidence being recovered. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Joaquin Manuel SANCHEZ, was arrested.

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On December 10 at 3:20PM, officers responded to the 16600 block of Hardwood Oaks Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a fight. The investigation revealed the victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile, and two other juveniles were involved in a fight when one of the juveniles, identified as the accused, brandished a knife. The parties eventually separated, and no injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile, was charged.

• Brandishing a Firearm – On December 10 at 2:34PM, officers responded to the area of Richmond Hwy and Daniel Stuart Sq in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed one of the drivers involved in the collision, later identified as the accused, aggressively approached the other driver before brandishing a firearm. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Swain Hybert SULKER, was arrested.

Strong-Arm Robbery – On Dec.10 at 9:12PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Jimmy John’s located at 4168 Merchant Plaza in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery.
The investigation revealed a man, later identified as the accused, entered the business and began to argue with employees. At one point, the accused went behind the counter and took money before punching an employee.
The accused continued to engage employees aggressively, striking a separate employee before being detained by other Good Samaritans from a nearby business. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, ientified as Jorge Villacruz MENDOZA, was arrested.
