Man, 19, shot in Dale City while out walking

Prince William County VA Police Department’s incident report for Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016:

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation – On September 7 at 12:32AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting which allegedly occurred in the area of Birchdale Ave and Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that evening.

The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as a 19-year-old man of Woodbridge, was walking in the above area when he heard several gunshots then saw a vehicle drive away at a high rate of speed. After hearing the shots, the victim later realized he had been shot in the leg.

The victim was driven to an area hospital where police were contacted. The victim was not cooperative with investigators and no further information about the vehicle or the incident were given. This incident does not appear to be random.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 6 at 9:25AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2600 block of Glenriver Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. A resident reported to police that between 11:30PM on September 5 and 5:30AM on September 6, entry was attempted into the residence through a front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.
