Local man to explain firsthand experience with Alzheimer’s in talk at Gainesville

On February 26th at 7 pm,  Gainesville Marque resident and author, Frank Fuerst, will be speaking about his 17-year journey as caregiver for his wife, June, an Alzheimer’s patient.  As a result of that journey, Frank wrote the prize-winning Alzheimer’s Care With Dignity, a book he would have liked to have had during June’s illness.

Frank will cover topics including early indicators of Alzheimer’s, diagnosis, and what to expect during each phase of the illness.  He will also provide cornerstones for surviving mentally and emotionally as caregiver and share his experiences working with three of the National Institutes of Health.

Frank has spoken nationally and locally at caregiver conferences, Alzheimer’s Associations, nursing homes, government agencies, on public and internet radio and TV, and numerous other venues.

A question and answer session, book signing, and sale will take place after the presentation.  Alzheimer’s Care with Dignity will be offered at a greatly reduced price of $15 per copy.

Residents, families, friends, and caregivers are encouraged to attend this informative session in The Marque Lounge on February 26 at 7 pm.  Questions?  Contact Bette Arne at 503-467-1530.

The Marque apartment community is located at 13550 Heathcote Blvd., Gainesville.  Please use the front entrance to attend this inspiring event.
