Kindergarten registration in Fauquier County

Kindergarten registration for children attending Fauquier County Public Schools will be held April 11-15, 2016.  Children who are 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2016, are eligible for kindergarten.

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on any of the five days – April 11, 12 13, 14 or 15 – a parent should visit the school the child will attend.

Parents are advised that they do not need to bring the prospective kindergarten child to registration; however, they should bring him/her to orientation, which will be held at a later date at each individual school. If needed, parents may use the attendance zone locator service on the school division’s website at http://www.fcps1.org.

These documents are required for registration:
·      Photo ID of parent/guardian
·      Original birth certificate
·      Social Security number
·      Custody papers (if applicable)
·      A Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Health Form signed by a physician. This form must include a current immunization record and must be dated within one year of the enrollment date. It must be submitted to the school nurse for review before the first day of school.
·      Two forms of proof of residency (housing contract, rental agreement, property tax bill, deed, mortgage statement or utility bill). A driver’s license is not acceptable proof of residency.

All 11 of Fauquier County’s elementary schools will hold kindergarten registration April 11-15. Additional information may be obtained by calling the child’s school.
