**UPDATES**
Attempted Malicious Wounding | Attempted Strangulation *ARREST – On April 2nd, the suspect involved in the assault which was reported to have occurred in the 12100 block of Livingston Road in Manassas on April 1st turned himself into police and was arrested without incident.

Dylan Joseph CASTLE, 24, 505 Calvin Ln in Rockville, MD
Charged with 1 count of attempted malicious wounding, 1 count of attempted strangulation, 1 count of assault & battery and 4 counts of destruction of property

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Attempted Strangulation [Previously Released] – On April 1st at 8:35AM, officers responded to the 12100 block of Livingston Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a disorderly call. The victim, a 23 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, confronted her in the above area over an ongoing issue. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a pipe from his vehicle and approached the victim and a male acquaintance. As the victim attempted to get away from the accused, he used the pipe to smash windows belonging to two business and two vehicles. At one point, the accused grabbed the victim around her neck in attempt to strangle her. Police were contacted and the accused fled the area prior to their arrival. The victim reported minor injuries while the victim’s male acquaintance sustained a minor laceration from the glass. Following the investigation, officers obtained multiple warrants for the arrest of the accused.
**INCIDENTS**
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On April 6th at 3:07AM, officers responded to the area of Cloverdale Road and Dillion Avenue in Woodbridge (22193) in reference to a firearm violation. The victims, two juvenile males of Woodbridge, reported to police that they were in the area when they were approached by two subjects. Upon leaving the area, the victims reported hearing a single gunshot. The suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. There were no injuries or damages to property reported.

Suspect #1: White male between 20-30 years of age; last seen wearing a red sweatshirt
Suspect #2: Black male between 20-30 years of age; unknown clothing description
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On April 3rd at 8:11PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Darbydale Avenue in Woodbridge (22193) and met with the complainant, a 61 year old man. He reported to police that between 12:00PM on April 2nd and 4:00PM on April 3rd, there was damage reported to a vehicle outside his residence. Through investigation, it was determined that the damage was caused by a bullet. There were no injuries reported and minor damage to property. There is currently no suspect information.
Commercial Burglary – On April 5th at 1:00AM, an officer was on routine patrol in a shopping center in the 11200 block of Bulloch Drive in Manassas (20109) and observed an open door to a vacant commercial property. Entry was gained through a rear door to the property which had been damaged. There was no property reported missing. There is currently no suspect information.
Residential Burglary – On April 2nd at 11:01AM, officers responded to the 10000 block of Portsmouth Road in Manassas (20109) in reference to a burglary. The homeowner reported that sometime between 12:30PM and 7:30PM on April 1st, entry was made into the residence through a rear door which had been damaged. Miscellaneous property was reported missing. There is currently no suspect information.
**ARRESTS**
Gang Participation Investigation – On March 26th, officers and detectives conducted an investigation at Parkside Middle School located at 8602 Mathis Avenue in Manassas (20110) in reference to rumors of a fight that would involve weapons at the school. Based on the information gathered, the altercation was allegedly supposed to occur on March 27th. As a result, additional police were present at the school on this date. Through the investigation, detectives determined that the rumors stemmed from a physical altercation between known parties which had occurred earlier in the day on March 26th. Detectives were able to identify three male juveniles involved in the incident as having gang involvement. Following the investigation, all three juveniles were promptly removed the school and were subsequently arrested on a later date.

All three juveniles were charged with 1 count of conspiracy to commit a felony – attempted malicious wounding, 1 counts of conspiracy to bring a knife on to school property and 2 counts of gang participation

Strangulation | Domestic Assault and Battery – On April 3rd at 9:14PM, officers responded to the 7600 block of Oak Street in Manassas (20111) in reference to a domestic assault. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she had been in a verbal argument that turned physical with a known acquaintance. During the altercation, the suspect assaulted and at one point, choked the victim. There were minor injuries reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Rashard Dennis HATCHER, 28, of 4617 Charlton Court of Woodbridge
Charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery

Attempted Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On April 5th at 4:40PM, officers responded to the 1700 block of River Bend Way in Woodbridge (22192) in reference to domestic assault. The victim, a 40 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was involved in an argument with a family member. During the altercation, the suspect, who was later identified as a 15 year old female of Woodbridge, grabbed two knives and attempted to stab the victim. The victim was able to restrain the accused. Upon police arrival on scene, the suspect was subsequently arrested without incident. There were no injuries reported to the victim.

Child Neglect – On April 5th at 7:00PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Madeira Court in Woodbridge (22192) in order to check the welfare of the residents. During the investigation, it was determined that two children, a three year girl and a four year old girl, were living in unsanitary and unsafe conditions inside the residence . Following the investigation, the mother of the children was arrested without incident. With the assistance of Child Protective Services, the children were placed into the custody of another family member.

Charged with 2 counts of felony child neglect

Strong Armed Robbery – On April 4th at 12:25PM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Rolling Road in Manassas (20110) in reference to a robbery. The victim, a 19 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he met with a known acquaintance to conduct a narcotics transaction. During the transaction, the acquaintance and other unknown suspects assaulted the victim before taking money and property and fleeing the area. There were no injuries reported. Following the investigation, the accused was located and subsequently arrested without incident. This incident was not a random act.

Charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony – robbery and assault by mob

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 2nd at 11:45PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Wetherburn Court in Woodbridge (22191) in reference to a domestic altercation. During the investigation, the suspect assaulted the two officers and actively resisted arrest. Following a struggle with the officers, the suspect was subsequently arrested. There were minor injuries reported to one of the officers. The initial domestic altercation was determined to only be verbal with no physical assault taking place.
