Volunteer to step into today’s classroom of technology and science by being a science fair judge. The experiments go beyond expectations; their titles alone tell you quickly that this is not the science fair you knew when you were in school.
Prince William–Manassas Regional Middle/Senior and Elementary Science Fairs will be on March 12 and April 9, respectively. Both fairs will be held in the atrium of the Edward L. Detailed information related to the fair can be found on the Science and Family Life Education Web page. The categories in the middle/senior division (grades 7–12) are animal sciences, behavioral and social sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, earth and space sciences, electrical and mechanical engineering, environmental sciences, bioengineering, mathematics, medicine and health, microbiology, physics and astronomy, and plant sciences.
Team projects are also eligible for competition.
Students who win first and second place in their school science fairs are eligible to compete in the regional fair.
The categories in the junior division (grades 5–6) are animal sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering and mathematics, earth and space sciences, environmental sciences, medicine and health, physics, and plant sciences. Students who win first place in their school fair are eligible to compete.
