The Prince William Art Society is resuming its Jewell Pratt Burns Art Scholarship following a two-year hiatus necessitated by the pandemic, a press release said. Previously, the scholarships has been given every year since 2008.
PWAS will award up to two competitive scholarships of $1000 each to Prince William County high school seniors graduating from any public or private school, or who are home schooled, and who are preparing to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Commercial Art or Art Education.
Students must email an “Intent To Apply” letter to:
.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by Wednesday, April 6 containing a simple statement of intent, such as: “I intend to apply for the Prince William Society Art Scholarship” along with their name, the name of their school, and contact information for any necessary changes or updated information, and to ensure that their final portfolios can be returned to them after the selection process.
Students must prepare and mail or hand deliver their final application materials postmarked on or before the final deadline of Thursday, April 28 to:

The scholarships will be presented in May.
