January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Just like you, everyone here at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is grateful every day for the courage, selflessness, and commitment shown by all law enforcement officers when they put on their uniforms.

But today is special. You see, January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Across the country, in every community, people like you make a special effort to let their local heroic officers know just how much their efforts mean to the citizens they take an oath to serve and protect.

Here are a few ways you can show your appreciation:

• Wear something blue all day.
• Send a card of support to your local departments.
• Use social media to share a positive law enforcement experience.
• Participate in Project Blue Light by shining a blue light on your residence.
• Give blood during a Blue Blood Drive.
• Say “Thank you” to every law enforcement officer you encounter on this very special day.
