Burglary While Armed *ARREST – On September 10, Kareem Abdelfataih AHMED, wanted for his involvement in a home invasion that occurred at a residence located in the 2500 block of Sedgewick Pl in the Town of Dumfries on September 5, turned himself into police and was arrested without incident. The investigation continues.

Kareem Abdelfataih AHMED, 23, of the 6100 block of Dinwiddie St in Springfield
Charged with robbery, burglary, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and reckless handling of a firearm

Burglary While Armed *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED [Previously Released] – On September 7, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified one of the suspects involved in a home invasion that occurred a residence located in the 2500 block of Sedgewick Pl in the Town of Dumfries on September 5. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of the suspect, identified as Kareem Abdelfataih AHMED. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
Burglary While Armed [Previously Released] – On September 5 at 8:27PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Sedgewick Pl in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a home invasion. The victim, an 18-year-old man, reported to police that two unknown suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered the residence and demanded the victim’s money and cell phone. At some point, one round from the handgun was discharged into the ceiling. The parties eventually separated, and the suspects fled the residence on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.
