Home Instead Senior Care details “Giving Back” program for 2014

Home Instead Senior Care of Prince William/Fauquier will participate in “Home Instead Gives Back” campaign for 2014. This will be the second year for the program.  Jacqueline St. Clair, owner, the company’s commitment to seniors is growing as the business grows.

The campaign includes a program of senior advocacy and community service aimed at assisting seniors in our community who need it the most. Ian Lovejoy, director of operations, was quoted in a news release as saying the firm believe giving back “should be a year-long effort.”

Goals for 2014 include:

•    Dedicate 1,700 square foot “Great Room” for public use by community partners

•    Pledge 750 volunteer hours to the area

•    Offer free senior care education seminars throughout the community

•    Assist veterans in receiving home care at no out of pocket expense through the Aid and Attendance Benefit and Home Health Aide Program

•    Provide free continuing education for social workers and nurses in the community

•    Offer pro bono caregiving services to those in need

•    Provide excellent service to Medicaid beneficiaries

•    Support local senior advocacy organizations

•    Help lead the fight against Alzheimer’s by committing resources to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2014 campaign

•    Pledge 200 pounds of food for local seniors in need

The local Home Instead Gives Back program was inspired by the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, the news release said.

According to the news release, this private foundation funds non-profit organizations across the globe that are actively changing the lives of seniors and their communities every day. Areas of grant-making interest include age-related research and development; scholarships; advocacy for the health and well-being of older adults and programs that promote community inclusion for seniors, especially those facing isolation.
