A First Day Hike from 9 a.m. to noon, will be held Jan. 1, 2020 at Neabsco Regional Park, 15875 Neabsco Rd., Woodbridge, VA 22191. The hike will begin at the parking lot for Neabsco Regional Park on Blackburn Road, according to a county news release.
The four-mile hike will include the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, Metz Wetlands and Leesylvania State Park. Guides will cover the wildlife, plant life and history along the walk. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes and bring water. Suggested for ages 10 and up. For more information call 702-499-9812.
Welcome in 2020 on Jan. 1, from 1 from 2:30 p.m. at Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park, located a short distance from the intersection of Rt. 20 and Bristow Rd (Rt, 619) on the corner of Iron Brigade Unit Avenue and Tenth Alabama Way, Bristow, VA 20136.
This guided 90-minute, three-mile hike by local historians will start off at the parking lot for a brief overview. Then walk down the 1863 Trail, and then via the 1862 Trail before walking back to the parking lot.
