Prince William County VA Police Department’s report of incidents for Monday, August 22, 2016
**INCIDENTS**
Armed Robbery | Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 20 at 12:17AM, officers responded to the 9400 block of Lomond Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 25-year-old man of Manassas, reported to police that he made arrangements to sell some auto parts to an acquaintance in the above area. During the encounter, the man brandished a handgun and demanded the property. At some point, the suspect fired toward the victim missing him. The suspect then fled the area with the victim’s property. The victim contacted police. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified and obtained warrants for the arrest of the suspect, identified as Jalan Winston ROSE. The investigation continues.

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 9 at 9:34PM, officers responded to the 16600 block of Blackjack Oak Ln Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the suspect punched the victim in the face knocking him to the ground then demanded his wallet. The suspect continued to assault the victim then took his wallet before fleeing the area on foot. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The investigation continues.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On August 20 at 7:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16300 block of Topsail Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet hole was discovered in the front door frame. Upon further investigation, a bullet was located on the floor inside the residence. Further investigation revealed that gunshots were heard in the area on August 18 around 10:30PM. No injuries or other property damage were reported.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 18 at 8:06PM, officers responded to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that several gunshots were heard in the above area. Officers checked the area and located several shell casing nearby. No injuries or property damage were reported.
Residential Burglary While Armed – On August 22 at 2:36AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Cuddy Lp in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The victim, 28-year-old man, reported to police that an unknown man carrying a knife kicked in the front door. The suspect entered the residence then fled without taking any property when he saw the caller. A police K-9 and helicopter were used to search for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On August 21 at 1:47AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5100 block of Bonnie Brae Farm Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a burglary in progress. A resident reported to police that he was awakened by a door alarm. When he went downstairs, he saw two unknown suspects inside the residence. When he challenged the suspects, they fled out the back door. When the caller went outside, he saw a large group of unknown suspects using the pool. The caller then contacted police. All the suspects fled the area prior to officers arriving in the area. The investigation continues.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 20 at 4:40PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 7000 block of Lakota Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. A resident reported to police that between 10:00AM on August 13 and 4:00PM on August 20, entry was attempted into the apartment through a front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing.
Attempted Commercial Burglary – On August 20 at 9:27AM, officers responded to the Long John Silvers located at 4301 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The business manager reported to police that between 10:30PM on August 18 and 9:00AM on August 19, entry was attempted into the business through a front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 19 at 11:49AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Estate Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that an unknown man attempted entry into the residence by breaking a rear window with a shovel. When the victim challenged the suspect, he fled the area in a silver sedan. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.
