Haymarket man accused of abduction

Abduction | Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Feb.10 at 1:05AM, Prince William County Police Department officers responded to the Days Inn located at 7249 New Market Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic.

“The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as a 36-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. When the victim attempted to leave the room, the accused grabbed her from behind by the throat and prevented her from leaving.

Eventually the victim was able to separate from the accused. As the victim tried to use the telephone, the accused disabled it, preventing her from contacting emergency services.

A short time later, the victim was able to leave the room and went to the hotel lobby where police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Devin Edward THOMPSON, was arrested.

Charged with abduction, strangulation, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement
