Guns and knife involved in Woodbridge and Dumfries incidents over the weekend, PWC Police report

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On July 25 at 3:38AM, officers responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 23-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the victim walk to the rear of a nearby business. Once there, a third unknown man brandishing a handgun appeared and demanded money. At some point, one of the suspects struck the victim multiple times in the head causing him to lose consciousness. The victim eventually woke up when one of the suspects attempted to take off his shoes. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone, wallet, shoes, and money before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding | Stabbing Investigation – On July 24 at 4:23AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5600 block of Saint Charles Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to a stabbing. The investigation revealed that several unknown men were told to leave a party being held at a residence in the above area.  During the encounter, one of the men displayed a knife and attempted to stab the homeowner. The homeowner was able to avoid the knife but the victim, a 20-year-old man of Woodbridge who was standing behind the homeowner, was stabbed in the upper body. No suspect information is available at this time. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. The investigation continues.

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 22 at 10:59PM, officers responded to the area of South Lake Blvd and Higgins Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 52-year-old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man pushed the victim to the ground then took her shoulder bag containing her wallet and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported.  A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On July 23 at 2:24AM, officers responded to the area of Old Triangle Rd and Fort Henry Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located multiple shell casings in the roadway. During the investigation, an occupied pickup truck parked on Fort Henry Ct and residence located in the 2400 block of Kilpatrick Pl were found to have been struck. The projectile appeared to have entered through an upper floor window. No injuries were reported. 

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 24 at 2:00AM, officers responded to the 3600 block of Jurgensen Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. A caller reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. Officers checked the area and located multiple shell casings in the roadway. A witness reportedly observed an unknown black male fire the gunshots into the air before getting into a black sedan and leaving the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.
