Governor appoints local residents to state commissions

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his administration July 17. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.

Governor Terry McAuliffe has reappointed Courtney Sheffield Tierney, MSW, CIRS-A, ICDVP, CPM of Gainesville to Virginia’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission.

Tierney, formerly director of the Area Agency on Aging, is director of Prince William County Department of Social Services.

Sharon E. Pandak of Prince William, a former county attorney for Prince William County, and now a partner with the law firm of Greehan, Taves, Pandak & Stoner, PLLC, has been named to the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Advisory Council.

The State Executive Council for Children’s Services now has two appointees with connections to Prince William County with the Governor’s appointments of Melissa S. Peacor of Manassas, County Executive, Prince William County Government and Courtney D. Gaskins, PhD of Warrenton, Director of Program Service, Youth For Tomorrow-New Life Center, Inc. in Bristow.
