PWC Police investigate shooting, sexual assault of 11-year-old girl

Incidents and arrests released by Prince William County Police on Wednesday, September 30, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation – On September 29th at 10:46AM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Wrangler Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that a victim, a 29 year old man of Woodbridge, was returning to his apartment when he encountered two men.

The men forced the victim into this apartment where they physically assaulted him. During the assault, one of the men brandished a handgun before the suspects fled the apartment building on foot.

A second victim, identified as a 34 year old man of South Carolina, reported that he was walking through the parking lot when he observed the suspects fleeing the building and that the initial victim was injured.

The second victim chased the two suspects across the parking lot and was subsequently shot in the leg by one of the men as they fled.  The shooting victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The initial victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A police K-9 with helicopter assistance from Fairfax County Police searched the area for the suspects who were not located. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On September 29th at 10:04PM, officers responded to the 3400 block of Brightwood Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 48 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he parked his vehicle and was about to walk to his residence when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The second suspect went through the victim’s pockets and removed his wallet before the suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, between 19 & 25 years of age, 6’1”-6’3”, 140-170lbs, with a medium build, dark complexion, short black hair and brown eyes

Residential Burglary – On September 28th at 4:39PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8000 block of Stillbrooke Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:30AM and 2:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Jewelry, a laptop, multiple cameras and other property were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Sexual Assault Investigation – On September 17th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 3300 block of Vineland Pl in Dumfries (22026). The investigation revealed that the victim, an 11 year old girl, was sexually assaulted on more than one occasion since 2010 by the accused, a known acquaintance. The victim recently disclosed the incidents to school staff who immediately notified police. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a juvenile, was charged on September 29th.
