Gardening events canceled; VCE Master Gardeners to answer lawn & garden questions remotely

Prince William’s Virginia Cooperative Extension Office’s Environmental and Natural Resources staff and the Horticulture Help Desk staff are working remotely and are ready to answer your lawn and garden questions, according to a news release. Request soil test kits, send photos of lawn or plant problems, ask gardening or pest questions by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Upcoming “Saturday in the Garden” classes scheduled for April 25 and May 16 are canceled, in keeping with the guidance on social distancing set by federal, state and local governments. Updates for future classes will be sent as needed and posted at http://www.pwcgov.org/grow The M.GPW Plant Sale scheduled for May 16 at the Teaching Garden is also canceled.

“Ask a Master Gardener” spring plant clinics scheduled for April and May at these locations have been cancelled: Merrifield Garden Center, Lowe’s Manassas,  Lowe’s Gainesville, Lowe’s Woodbridge, and Southern States of Manassas.  Clinics at the Dale City Farmers Marker and Manassas City Farmers Marker are canceled until further notice. Updates for future Farmers Markets Clinics will be sent as needed and posted on the county’s web site at http://www.pwcgov.org/grow.

Other event cancellations: Bluebell Festival, Prince William County Earth Day (all locations), REI Earth Day Festival.
