Alyson A. Satterwhite, Gainesville Magisterial District representative on the Prince William County School Board, was unanimously elected vice chairman for 2015 at the School Board’s annual organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 7.
Officers, with the exception of the Chairman At-Large, are elected at the organizational meeting, during which the annual calendar of regular meetings and the annual agenda are established.
Satterwhite replaces Gil Trenum (Brentsville) who served as vice chairman in 2014.
The Board reappointed Deborah Urban as clerk of the Prince William County School Board for 2015.
Rae E. Darlington, deputy superintendent, was reappointed designee of the Division Superintendent to attend meetings of the School Board in the absence or inability of the Superintendent to attend.
The Board established the location of its regular School Board meetings at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, Virginia, on the first and third Wednesdays of the months January through June and September through December.
Closed session meetings will begin at 6 p.m., and public meetings shall convene at 7 p.m.
Current School Board members will serve through December 31, 2015. Chairman Milton Johns recently announced that he will not seek reelection when his term expires.
