Some $34.575 million would be spent on VA 28, Va 234 and some unpaved secondary roads under Governor McDonnell’s 2013 transportation funding proposal. In all, he proposed 158 projects with $1.28 billion of new state funding for “Virginia’s Road to the Future.”
The proposed projects were detailed in a news release from the governor’s office Jan. 22.
Some $13,398,836 would be allocated for widening VA 28 to six lanes. The funding would cover engineering and construction.
Ten million dollars would be allocated for engineering for the Bi-County Parkway, Rt. 234 Manassas National Battlefield Park Bypass. The designated localities are Prince William and Loudoun Counties.
Ten million dollars would be allocated for engineering and right-of-way for the VA 234 Bypass interchange at VA 3000.
The final project(s) in Prince William County is $2,177,400 allocated to paving secondary roads used by 400-1500 vehicles per day.
