Four men held over Christmas without bond after arrests

Sexual Assault Investigation –
On December 15, detectives with the Special Victims Unit concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Haymarket area (20169) of Prince William County on December 14. The investigation revealed, the victim, an 11-year-old female juvenile, was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance, identified as the accused. The victim recently reported the incidents prompting the police investigation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Nicolas Andre PERINI, was arrested.

Nicolas Andre PERINI, 26, of Haymarket
Charged with aggravated sexual battery

Stabbing Investigation – On December 22 at 8:54AM, officers responded to a residence in the 14700 block of Darbydale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 47-year-old woman, suffering from stab wounds to the lower back. The investigation revealed that the victim and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim while inside of a vehicle. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and attempted to contact police. At that point, the accused grabbed the victim’s cell phone. The parties eventually separated, and the police were contacted by a witness. As officers were investigating, the accused was determined to be intoxicated. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as John Francis LEFTWICH, was arrested.

Abduction | Domestic Related – On December 21 at 11:02AM, officers responded to investigate an abduction that was reported to have occurred at an apartment located in the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge (22191) on December 20 between 10:30PM-11:30PM. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During encounter, the victim attempted to separate herself from the accused multiple times when he would follow her around the home. As the victim attempted to exit the home, the accused pushed the door shut and locked it, preventing her from exiting. Eventually the parties separated, and the victim contacted the police the following day. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as, Daryl Herbert CARPENTER II, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On December 20 at 8:45AM, officers responded to the parking lot in the 14800 block of Dining Way to investigate a larceny. The caller reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was trying to open car doors. Officers located the accused after he fled into a nearby business where he was acting disorderly.

When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted. During the encounter, the accused struck the officer. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. The accused was determined to be intoxicated and reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ezell Alshun SHEFFIELD, was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, attempted grand larceny, obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct
