Female juvenile charged with assaulting school resource officer at Hylton High School

INCIDENTS
• Armed Robbery –
On Sept. 23, 2024 at 6:18PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Telegraph Rd. and Old Horner Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) on the afternoon of Sept. 18. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking in the above area when he was approached from behind by two unknown men. During the encounter, the suspects brandished a knife and took the victim’s backpack before leaving the area. No injuries were reported. The suspects were described as black males wearing a ski-style mask and all dark-colored clothing.

• Attempted Armed Robbery  – On Sept. 24, 2024 at 5:18PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the McDonald’s located at 12730 Harbor Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 25-year-old woman, and a group of men were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the victim was struck and scratched by the men before the parties separated. A short time later, the suspects returned to the business and attempted to take the victim’s purse while one of the men implied he had a firearm. The victim was able to maintain possession of her purse and separated from the suspects. The suspects left the business prior to police arriving on scene. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. Minor injuries were reported.

• A black male, approximately 5’8”, with black hair and a scruffy beard and mustache
Last seen wearing a black ski-style mask, a white hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans
• A black male, approximately 5’8”, and clean shaven
Last seen wearing a black puffer-style jacket, Lilo and Stitch pajama pants, and pink Crocs
• A black male, approximately 5’8”
Last seen wearing a black ski-style mask, a black jacket, grey leggings, and black Crocs

ARRESTS
Armed Robbery –
On Sept. 23, 2024 at 7:02PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13500 block of Nokesville Rd. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile, arranged to sell a messenger bag via Offer Up to an unknown party, later identified as the accused. Before the transaction was completed, the accused partially entered the victim’s vehicle and brandished a firearm before taking the victim’s bag, money, and phone. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused who was located and detained without incident. No shots were fired during the incident and no injuries were reported. A search warrant was executed at the home of the accused where evidence relating to the robbery and a firearm, that was previously reported stolen, were recovered. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.

• Strangulation (Domestic Related) – On Sept. 25, 2024 at 12:36AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 15200 block of Lodge Ter. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 13-year-old female juvenile, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed and struck the victim before grabbing her neck. The parties were separated by another family member and the police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jahnai Shantel BRIGGS, was arrested.

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Sept. 24, 2024 at 8:35AM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Hylton High School located at 14051 Spriggs Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) was notified by school personnel of an active fight. The SRO and school security located two female students who were physically fighting inside the school and separated the parties. While separating the parties, one of the involved students, identified as the accused, struck the SRO before being detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 16-year-old female juvenile, was arrested.
